Montreal Guitar Lessons with Lyle Robinson

Who Are You?

I’m a Montreal guitar teacher who has been teaching for four years (two years at a private music school and two years privately) and playing for 36 years!

If you have a desire to learn guitar, and are from 6 to 80, I can teach you what you need to know to become a great guitar player. No matter if you are a beginner or an intermediate player, I can help you achieve your goals guitar wise. As long as you are committed to learning, we can get the job done!!

As a local Montreal guitar teacher, I currently teach children (both boys and girls) and adults (both men and women) from the NDG, Mtl. West, Cote St. Luc areas of Montreal. I usually teach from my place, but I do make house calls if need be for those students in the mentioned areas of town. If you live further than these areas I have no problem having you as a student as long as you don’t mind having the lessons at my place.

What Will I Learn?

As my student, you will learn a variety of skills needed to play your favorite songs and impress your friends. I teach Rock, Blues, and/or Jazz and the concepts that go with such styles of music.

If you are a total beginner, we would work on the basic mechanics of Guitar: chords, scales, strumming, a bit of theory, music reading and of course, learning songs.

If you are an intermediate player, we would work on soloing techniques, scales and their application to soloing, music theory, song analysis and other things that make the Guitar fun to play.

My main concern when teaching is that the student walks away feeling that he or she has learned something and that he or she has had fun doing so. Playing and studying guitar is, and should be, an enjoyable and fun experience and I try and instill that in my students from day one!

I’m Interested! Where Can I Get More Info?

For more information, please email me through my contact page, or leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours. I also have references by request if need be.

Thanks again for dropping by and I look forward to teaching you or your children the awesome world that is guitar…)

My daughter started guitar lessons with LR one year ago and is so excited that she can now play songs for her family and friends. When I sit in the other room and hear LR working with her, it amazes me how well they connect. She is 11 years old and looks forward to her Friday lessons. Now, if I could convince her to practice a bit more!

And while I’m sure some would argue about me being the “greatest guitar player in the world”, everything else you wrote is true…:) Thanks again and be well!

  9. Neil says:

Hi, I’m looking for lessons, mainly jazz oriented as I’m interested in the chord structure and learning some standards. Although I know all of my major scale patterns, pentatonic major & minor, blues scale also, I’m still inept at soloing. My picking speed is a lot to be desired…in short I need some guidance and something to practice to improve my confidence. Please let me know your prices and availability, as I’m only available every second week due to my job. Thanks for your time…Neil
